Postpartum Doula

What to Expect

What is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is a trained, non-medical support person who comes into your home after birth to care for you and your family in a gentle, steady way. We are there for you, without expectation, without judgment - simply to support, guide, and hold you through this time.

Traditionally, new parents were surrounded by family in the early weeks after birth. Meals were made, homes were tended to, and mothers were cared for. Today, many of us are far from that kind of support - living in different countries, oceans apart from family, or without a close village nearby.

A postpartum doula helps fill that space. We become part of your circle for a while - offering consistent, familiar care so you don’t have to do this alone.

How We Support You - Our care is both practical and deeply emotional. It’s not just about what we do - it’s about how we make you feel.

Alongside that, we are there to:

  • Listen - really listen- to how you’re feeling

  • Sit with you in the quiet, the joy, or the overwhelm

  • Offer reassurance when things feel uncertain

  • Help you trust your instincts and find your own rhythm

  • Support your partner and the whole family as you adjust

We also gently guide when needed - sharing knowledge, offering suggestions, or connecting you with trusted professionals - but always in a way that centers you and your choices.

How It Works

  • Send us your request through the contact form and choose a package with the amount of hours you would like.

  • Interview our doulas who have capacity online or in person. Then confirm your doula and start your care.

  • Signing an agreement helps secure your support and care.

  • Once your baby arrives, simply let us know. Staying in close contact allows us to support you when you need it most. Whether you’d like overnight care starting two weeks after birth or a month later, we remain flexible and will move with your family’s rhythm.

If your baby is already here, you can arrange a week-to-week schedule with your doula or Carehaus team—so support feels steady, responsive, and tailored to your needs.

*Note: If you would like more than 4 days per week, a doula team is recommended.

  • Once your deposit is secured and your baby has arrived, your care can begin. Planning your dates and times in advance helps us support you in the most seamless and thoughtful way.
